【Abstract】 The essence of the philosophy of higher education or legitimacy is its intrinsic value.Brubacher has demonstrated two types of philosophy or legitimacy of higher education,which are epistemology and pragmatism.After universities stepping out of the ivory tower,they are gradually indulged into market society.Market as a social institution,moral system and ideology,is seriously shaking the intrinsic values of higher education and making them losing their balance.When human society is confronting huge dangers presently,particularly the environmental crisis and the civilization clash,the highest-virtue philosophy of higher education needs to be enhanced.更多还原
