【Abstract】 With new historicism as the theoretical basis,a fresh interpretation was conducted as to Bellow’s masterpiece Humboldt’s Gift.Bellow’s portrait of people’s attachment to materialism and his concern about arts and the fate of modern artists echo with new historicism in terms of "the historicity of text".Bellow’s text in one aspect is the product of the particular social,cultural and historical conditions;in another it serves as a functional component of historical utterance,contributing to the construction of reality,stirring people’s consciousness upon American mass concept.更多还原
