【Abstract】 This paper introduces the brief development history of equation with one variable in Chinese and western culture,explains the exchange and influence of equation theory in each period between Chinese and western culture,and analyzes the historical reason of decline even disappearance of the equation theory in ancient China on the level of mathematical culture.Furthermore,it explains the historical reasons of why higher algebra emerged and developed in western culture under the sense that mathematics values promote the development of mathematics.更多还原
