【摘要】 对6块CsI和NaI晶体组成的量能器(CSR晶体)在美国JLab Hall A实验装置上进行性能测试.0.4~3.6 GeV能量的电子束入射到不同靶(4He,12C,56Fe和208Pb)上,在散射角90°和120°上测量散射电子的能量.进而对CSR晶体以及Hall A原有的铅玻璃量能器进行能量刻度并求得它们的能量分辨率,得出CSR晶体的能量分辨率比铅玻璃的分辨率平均好4倍多,能更好地区分所要的散射电子和要去除的背景电子.由此JLab Hall A的库仑求和规则实验将选用CsI或NaI晶体替代原有的铅玻璃量能器.

【Abstract】 The performance of CSR(Coulomb sum rule) calorimeter consisting of six CsI and NaI crystals at JLab Hall A facility was tested.Electron beam energies from 0.4 to 3.6 GeV were used to scatter on different targets(4He,12C,56Fe和208Pb),and the energy of scattered electrons at different scattering angles of 90°and 120° was measured.Then,the crystals and Hall A old lead glass were calibrated and their energy resolution was calculated.The resolution of CSR crystals were obtained that is 4 times better than that of lead glass and is better at distinguishing the wanted electrons from background ones.So JLab will use the CSR crystals to replace the old lead glass calorimeters for improving the precision of CSR experiments.
