Effect of Observational Learning and Physical Practice Proportion on Different Aged Learner’s Tracking Task Learning
【Abstract】 The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of different proportions between observational learning and physical practice on different aged learner’s tracking learning. The subjects (36 pupils,36 senior high school students, and 36 college students) were randomly assigned into one of three groups:the 25% observational learning+75% physical practice group, the 50% observational learning+50% physical practice group, and the 75% observational learning +25% physical practice group. After 3 days’ learning of a computer tracking task, all subjects were given immediate test,24-hour delayed retention test, and transfer test respectively. The result indicated that the proportion of 50% observational learning+50% physical practice was significantly better than 75% observational learning+25% physical practice and 25% observational learning+75% physical practice for both college students and the senior high school students’ tracking learning, the proportion of 25% observational learning+75% physical practice was significantly better than 75% observational learning+25% physical practice for pupils’ tracking learning, and when the subjects used the same proportion, there was no significant performance difference between the college students and the senior high school students, while both of them performed significantly better than the pupils.
