【Abstract】 This paper presents a pragmatic account of the discourse marker and in courtroom questioning.It underscores a link to the anaphoric discourse and the questioners’ orientation toward the affirmative answers.The paper further explores the reason for the frequent use of and as a discourse marker in courtroom questioning,and reveals the main characteristics and differences of particular linguistic phenomenon between institutional discourse and ordinary conversation.更多还原
