从黏滞系数的测量到水立方魔力之谜

【摘要】 从大学物理实验教学中"落球法测量黏滞系数"实验为起点,在不增加设备的条件下,讨论了小球在不同位置下落时,边界条件对小球运动速度的影响。结果表明,运动速度与小球距离圆柱容器边界的距离成二次关系,离边界越远,液体中运动物体受液体黏滞阻力越小。该结果不仅说明了水立方的深度与运动速度的关系,为现代复杂流体理论研究工作者给出实验参考数据,而且说明为学生教学设置经典实验与现代研究前沿研究和社会生活中的现象有非常密切的联系。

【Abstract】 Starting from one of university experimental course"viscosity coefficient measured by the falling-ball method",the boundary condition affecting the velocity of the falling ball was discussed when the ball is falling at different position,without any additional equipment.The result shows that the velocity is the second order of the distance between the ball and the nearest border of the cylindrical container.The velocity is smaller when the ball is nearer the bound.This work not only illuminates the relationship between depth of water cube and velocity of the swimmer and provides the reference data of the experiment for the theoretical researchers,but also shows that there is a very close relationship between setting up classical experiments for students teaching and modern research.
