【Abstract】 Glucagon-like peptide-1(GLP-1) and its mimetic exhibit positive effects on β cell mass by both inceasing proliferation and decreasing apoptosis.Here we review the effects of GLP-1 and its mimetics on apoptosis caused by increased cytokines,glucose inbalance and lipotoxicity shown in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.Studies in rodents,cell lines and isolated β cells are also analyzed in order to understand the mechanisms associated with the effects.更多还原
