【Abstract】 American Southern Agrarian Movement was an appealing literary movement with political and social significance launched by a group of Southern intellectuals from 1920s to 1930s. In a wider sense,this movement consists of three consecutive and inalienable stages: the Fugitives activities,the Agrarian Movement and the theoretical trend of New Critics. Southern Agrarian Movement is a literary movement in essence. It represents a return to ancient Greek poetic tradition. The Southern Agrarianism carried forward the great tradition of European and American Agrarianism. It has exerted far-reaching influence on American politics,economy and culture and occupies an important place in the history of American literature and thoughts.更多还原
