【Abstract】 As a universal spirit of Chinese traditional culture,the connotation of harmoniousness has an association with Confucianism,Taoism,Mohism and Buddhism. Thus, it becomes the soul of all kinds of idea and intensively represents the characters of Chinese traditional culture. Based on the ample historical literatures,the idea of harmoniousness is discussed systemically and profoundly, and what can be concluded is that harmoniousness is a philosophy,a stratagem,a accomplishment,an art,an ideal and a force.
