异构多子网的物理拓扑发现算法
Algorithm of Physical Topology Discovery in Heterogeneous Multiple Subnets
【摘要】 精确的网络拓扑信息对于网络管理和网络性能预测十分重要.大多数的拓扑发现研究集中在路由层以及单子网物理层,对于多子网物理拓扑发现特别是异构(多厂家生产)多子网拓扑发现的研究很少.文中提出了在异构IP网络中发现多子网物理拓扑的算法.此算法依赖于标准的SNMP MIB信息,在现代的IP网络设备中广泛支持这种SNMP MIB信息.依据多子网属性,该算法提出一些用来判断多子网内设备端口互连的引理.根据这些引理可以给出得到所有匹配端口对拓扑发现算法的实现步骤.实验表明,此算法无需修改运行在网络设备以及主机中的操作系统,只需要保证MIB信息足够充分来唯一识别网络拓扑,就可以准确进行拓扑发现.
【Abstract】 Accurate network topology information is important for both network management and network performance prediction.Most topology discovery researches focus on router level and single subnet physical level,but researches on the multiple subnet physical topology,especially heterogeneous(i.e.,multi-vendor) one are few.An algorithm for discovering multi-subnet physical topology in heterogeneous IP networks is presented.The algorithm relies on standard SNMP MIB information which is widely supported by modern IP network elements.According to the properties of multi-subnet,some lemmas are proposed to judge interconnection ports of equipments in multiple subnets.On the basis of these lemmas,topology discovery algorithm steps for matching interfaces are given.Experiments show that this algorithm could make physical topology discovery accurately without modified the operating system on elements or hosts,only needs the MIB information to be sufficient and unique to identify the network topology.
