【Abstract】 Due to his particular birth and multi-cultural background,Conrad always called himself a "double man".Therefore,"duplicity" has become one of the most striking features of his novel creation.In Under Western Eyes,"duplicity" can be seen everywhere.The most remarkable one is the duplicity in its narrative method:two nested stories,an interior and an exterior narrator,overlapping of the narrator’s and the author’s voices.This unique narrative characteristic stems from Conrad’s disruptive sense towards the theme of this novel,and also it’s a true reflection of his own double personality and political attitudes.更多还原
