大学英语教材编写与评估的几点思考

【摘要】 探索我国大学外语教材编写与评估中存在的问题,指出其主要体现在以下方面:教材编写重实践积累,轻理论指导;一些教材内容高度雷同,重复建设;很多大学教材编写时忽视情感因素(affect)在语言学习中的作用,极少试图以积极的情感来引导学习者,缺乏人文关怀;不少大学教材缺乏对大学生认知能力的挑战性;另外,缺乏根据具体的教学内容建立具体的教材编写与评估框架。针对这些问题提出:教材编写与评估都不能脱离学习者的需求,他们的需求必须排在第一位;坚持以语言学习与教学理论指导教材编写与评估;根据建立一套评估标准的方法与程序,来建立针对不同教学内容的教材编写与评估框架。

【Abstract】 The paper aims at exploring the problems with English materials development and evaluation at college level in China.Some problems are as follows.Materials development relies heavily on teaching experience and practice,but neglects the guidance of related theories;some published coursebooks bear an uncanny resemblance to each other with highly similarly limited range of topics;many coursebooks are lack of affective appeal,discouraging emotional engagement;some books are lack of cognitive challenge;and no specific criterion is established to guide materials writing and evaluation for different purpose.In order to solve the problems mentioned above,some suggestion is proposed.Firstly,Learners’ needs should be the priority of materials writing and evaluation.Secondly,language learning and teaching theories should be the explicit guideline for material writing and evaluation;thirdly,a procedure for developing criteria or framework should be followed to match the specific circumstances of a particular for materials writing and evaluation.
