【Abstract】 Behavior of soft soil settlement and consolidation is important for analyzing in soft soil roadbed. A practical project in Tianjin is simulated with the finite element program PLAXIS by step-construction in analyzing deformation and stress. The calculation results are given about the behavior of soft soil settlement and consolidation, and about the influence of the ground water level difference.
