【Abstract】 Under the background of globalization and economic development, this article talks about the problems and misunderstandings existing during current traditional settlement landscape design and tourism development in China. With the example of landscape planning of Luoshui Mosuo Village near Lugu Lake in Lijiang, Yunnan Province, it discourses upon the basic factors of "regional landscape" and its importance in traditional settlement landscape planning as well as its significance for preservation, continuity, and development of traditional culture.
