【Abstract】 This article defines the concept of "major disease" in the new cooperative medical system in rural areas,and at the same time pointed out that if the "major disease" was excessively emphasized,then some problems would arise such as the trend of emphasizing treatment but ignoring prevention,the narrower range of benefited peasants,and the waste of resources.Therefore,the author suggested that in the new cooperative medical system the resources be employed in a long-term manner in rural communities,with the basic medical care and prevention prior to major disease deliverance.The gradual transition should be made from complete administration by the government to self-management by peasants and communities.更多还原
