Survey analysis of microorganism on nurses’ hands
【Abstract】 Objective:To investigate the microorganism status on the nurses’ hands. To provide the real evidence for the prevention, control and management of nosocomial infections. Methods:The study took 60 nurses from the surgery and internal medicine department of our hospital as the observation objects, sampled the hands of nurses during the procedure of intravenous transfusion and compounding randomly, and after monitoring the nurses washing their hand by the six steps hand-cleaning technique. Then,to culture the samples and do the identification of bacteria. To analyze the distribution of microorganism on the nurses’ hands during the different procedures.Re-sults:There were 2664 strains cultured,in which 71.65% were gram positive coccus during the intravenous transfusion, including the con-ditioned pathogen, pathogenic bacteria(Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli) and MRScon. There were 2318 strains cultured during the compounding procedure, including pathogenic bacteria such as Staphlococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. There were 601 strains cultured after six steps hand-cleaning technique administration during the the intravenous transfusion,in which no pathogenic bacteria exist. There were 520 strains cultured after six steps hand-cleaning technique administration during compounding,in which only the Staphylococcus aureus was the pathogenic bacteria. Conclusion:There are antimicrobial resistance bacteria on nurses’ hands. The hand-washing compliance among nurses before working in our hospital are poor, and the hand hygiene status during the nursing procedure needs to be improved.
