【Abstract】 "Phonetic Metaphor" has not been taken into wide research since its initiation.The possible reason is that its initiator gives phonetic metaphor a too narrow definition,which in turn restricts its application in research field.This paper tries to interpret the phonetic rhetorical devices in English idioms through phonetic metaphor in order to find the cognitive and psychological basis for the idioms with special phonetic features and expand the research scope for phonetic metaphor.更多还原
