【Abstract】 The question of how to look at the relationship between traditional culture and Western culture and that of how to understand the relationship between traditional culture and modernization are undoubtedly two most direct and fundamental ones in China’s modernization drive.Value judgment of the two questions is actually to pass value judgment on the relationship between sinology,the May Forth New Culture Movement and modern literature.Sinology is by no means opposed to New Culture and modern literature.They all bespeak distinctive political utilitarian ideas of national salvation and rejuvenation,aiming to cast people’s modern mindset and to re-establish the value system of cultural modernization.更多还原
