Signal Transduction Mechanisms in Alzheimer’s Disease
【Abstract】 Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is an important kind of dementia, AD is a primary degenerative dementia, and its characteristic is attacking at age of over 65.Its progress is slow, and main manifestions are decreasing in memory, and in neurochemistry, often deficits in many neurotransmitters. The etiology of Alzheimer’s disease is unknown up to now. Signal transduction of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and protein kinase C (PKC) play an important role in cell proliferation, differentiation, growth, apoptosis and malignant transformation. The roles of signal transduction mechanisms in Alzheimer’s disease was reviewed in this study.
