【Abstract】 With an alienated and morb id antihero as the major character,A life in the Day of a Writer written by Tess Slesinger in 1935 bears out the characteristics of modernist theme. The hero’s pursuit of the inspiration of writing symbolizes his discovery of and integration with the real self.
