【Abstract】 Oscar Wilde’s pursuit of Aestheticism was represented in his only novel the Picture of Dorian Gray with its unusual design,witty language and obvious metaphor.The main characters of the novel represent the different aspects the time.Lord Henry was the interpreter of the fake morality of the age.The protagonist,Dorian Gray,who was the representative of the reality,put his doctrine into practice accordingly.The picture is the artist,Basil’s ideal pursuit which was once overturned by the reality and was once replaced by the reality.The eventual conversion——It was Dorian himself that was destroyed not the picture just shows Wilde’s real dream unconsciously.更多还原
