【Abstract】 Freedom is the most basic ideal that human beings pursuit. Freedom, as the essence of human beings, indicates the characteristics of human beings’ existence. Thus, freedom is the most fundamental and ultimate pursuit of individuals. Education is the necessary means to achieve the freedom of human beings and the ultimate goal of liberal education is to achieve human being’s freedom.Therefore liberal education is an ideal of education which should be unswervingly pursued by human beings.
