【Abstract】 Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clézio,the contemporary French writer,has a genius for portraying water as the prevailing natural image in his novels.The present thesis makes an analysis of the various forms of water presented in Le Clézio’s novels in order to reveal its symbolic meaning.The flexible and changeble water,as a wonderful physical existence,embodies characters’destinies and illusions and,with its positive or negative function,represents both life and death.The destiny of running water exists in the depths of human beings who cherich boundless reverie about water.更多还原
