【Abstract】 The same as the other initiators of the literary revolution,Qian Xuantong,one of the important members of the May 4th Movement,also took part in the vernacular movement at the end of the Qing Dynasty.What’s more important is that,as a lingual-philologist,Qian Xuantong associated the dialectal oral language and ancient language which serves the vernacular literature as the theoretical base and improves the position of the vernacular language.These cultural and academic activities of him at the end of the Qing Dynasty paved the way for his later participating in the literary revolution.Therefore,it can be explained from another aspect that the vernacular movement at the end of the Qing Dynasty was the prelude of the May 4th literary revolution.更多还原
