【Abstract】 This paper deals with the morphological characteristics of the third instar larvae of the following four species of the dung beetle:Caccobius jessoensis Harold,C.brevis Waterhouse,Onthophagus bivertex Heyden and O.gibbulus(Pallas).All the larvae are described and illustrated for the first time.These species take one year to complete a generation and overwinter in the adult stage.C-shaped larvae feed on the dung in the brood balls.A key to larvae of genus Caccobius and Onthophagus in China is proposed.The larva main characters are:head capsule,antenna,maxilla,epipharynx,last abdomen etc.更多还原
