微环辅助Mach-Zehnder光调制器的线性特性
Linearity of Microring-Assisted Mach-Zehnder Optical Modulators
【摘要】 分析了有损耗的多环辅助Mach-Zehnder(MZ)光调制器,获得了在偏置点处令二阶和三阶高次项同时为零的方程,并在此基础上解得单环和双环辅助下的设计参量的解析表达式.利用解析式可方便地得到在偏置点处二阶和三阶高次项同时为零的高线性MZ光调制器的设计方案.同时对微环辅助MZ光调制器的特性进行了分析.
【Abstract】 The linearity property of microrings-asisted Mach-Zehnder optical modulators is analyzed,in which loss is taken into account,and the general equation for the condition that the 2nd and 3rd-oder harmonic terms of the modulation characteristic are both zero is derived.It can be found that,for the single-ring-and two-ring-assisted cases,the configurational parameters for the linearized Mach-Zehnder modulators can be directly calculated from analytical formulas.With this analytical formulas,the characteristics of the microring-assisted Mach-Zehnder modulators are investigated.
