乙醇浸泡法对光纤物理性能的影响
The Effect of Ethanol Soaking on Optical Fiber’s Physical Properties
【摘要】 目前,越来越多的光纤光缆在世界各地投入使用。由于对光纤涂覆层的性能不够了解,一些光缆安装人员在光缆安装或光纤连接之前将光缆和光纤长时间浸泡在乙醇类的溶剂中,以节省清洁时间。通过一系列先进的测试技术,如剥离力、In-situ模量、动态疲劳值以及In-situ动态机械分析等的分析,证明了乙醇类溶剂对光纤以及光缆性能有一定的影响。
【Abstract】 There are an ever increasing number of optical fiber cables being installed worldwide.Due to some unfamiliarity with the properties of optical fiber coatings,some cable installers are soaking the optical cables and the fibers in solvents such as ethanol for an extended period of time,prior to the actual installations or inter-connections of fibers,to save on the time that is required to clean fibers.It is demonstrated through a series of advanced testing techniques(in-situ modulus,strip force,dynamic fatigue value,and in-situ dynamic mechanical analysis) that soaking optical cables and fibers in solvent,such as ethanol,will also alter their properties.
