【Abstract】 As one of deviating methods,functional inverted sentences are frequently applied in Bloom’s stream of consciousness In Ulysses by James Joyce.They have deep stylistic meanings and become one of the main features of his stream of consciousness.Foregrounding theory in stylistics provides a forceful theoretical basis for stylistic analysis.Based on the foregrounding theory,this paper illustrates the theme,immediacy and rhythm meanings due to the inversion.更多还原
