【Abstract】 In the present paper, one new species of the genus Rhotala Walker 1857 (Hemiptera, Fulgoroidea, Achilidae, Rhotalini), collected from Fanjingshan National Natural Reserves, Guizhou Province, is described and illustrated, viz. Rhotala fanjingshana sp. nov. Type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University, Guiyang, China.Rhotala fanjingshana sp. nov. (Figs.1-16)Body length including teg. ♂ 10.35-11.30mm, ♀ 11.30-11.80mm; tegmen length ♂ 8.70-9.55mm, ♀ 9.60-9.95mm.This new species resembles R. formosana Matsumura, but differs from the latter in: 1) vertex brown; 2) frons brown at base mostly, yellowish brown at apex; 3) male pygofer with the process of posterior margin slender and acuate; 4) phallic appendage with the apex boot-like.Holotype ♂, paratypes: 12 ♂♂, 5 ♀♀, Fanjingshan (27°55’N, 108°41’E), 500-1800m, Jiangkou County, Guizhou Province, 500-1800 m, 31 May 2002, light traping, coll.
