An oxide film wasproduced on shape memory alloy by anodic oxidation. The oxide film was investigated by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray diffractometry(XRD),X-ray photoelectron spectrosocopy(XPS).XRD analysis showed that oxide films formed by anodic oxidation was an amorphous phase and that the amorphous phase converted into anatase phase after hydrothermal treatment at 190℃for 4 h.The bonding strength of oxide film to NiTi shape memory alloy substrate was measured by a modified ASTM C-633 method.
