As an output of the language and pragmatic competence,more and more importance is attached to spoken language or oral English teaching especially at college. But teachers usually pay more attention to students' improvement of pronunciation,vocabulary,grammar,etc,while overlooking their pragmatic competence. From the perspective of cognitive psychology,this paper makes an analysis of this problem by adopting schemata theory and points out the specific enlightenments on College English oral teaching.
