【Abstract】 Recently,Chomsky published a few articles on derivation by phase,holding that a clause is derived phase by phase.Strong and weak phases have different effect on the flow of derivation.This being so,there is some slight difference regarding the derivation of exclamatives with a strong phase vP and exclamatives with a weak one.According to Rizzi’s Split CP Hypothesis,wh-element moves into SPEC-force in exclamatives to delete the edge feature on Force.Since Force bears no tense feature,it does not involve auxiliary movement and it also does not allow a wh-element with an acquired tense feature to move into its specifier position.更多还原
