【Abstract】 The development of different crude oil demulsification processes in the past several years is introduced such as chemical demulsificafion process,physical demulsificafion process,membrane demulsification process and biological demulsification process based upon the principles of demulsification of oil and water emulsion.Among these processes,membrane demulsification and biological demulsification can not only minimize environmental pollution hut also provide a good solution to the poor adaptability of emulsion breakers.
