【Abstract】 As the "Mother of Chinese American Literature",Jade Snow Wong is well known for her masterpiece The Fifth Chinese Daughter(1950),which is regarded as one of the earliest Chinese American literature works.The novel is mainly about how a Chinese American girl struggled in the American society,working her way through school and finally obtaining success in her career,which reflects the author’s strong desire to be melted into the mainstream culture,and exhibits an alienation from the Chinese culture to some extent.更多还原
