【Abstract】 This paper wants to analyze the influence of outside investor protection on earnings quality. We hypothesize that earnings manipulate decrease in legal protection because strong investor protection limits profit diversion by insider, which reduces their inventive to mask the earnings data. Using accounting data from 32 countries, we present empirical evidence consistent with our hypothesis and find the outside investor protection and earnings quality are poor in our country. This paper provides some suggestions for improving outside investor protection.更多还原
