The Methyl Jasmonate-induced H2O2 Generation and Relation to MAPK Sig-nal Transduction System in Arabidopsis thaliana Guard Cells
【Abstract】 The specific inhibitor PD98059 of MEK1/2 could inhibit the H2O2 production and stomatal closureinduced by methyl jasmonate (MeJA) in guard cells of Arabidopsis thaliana. After stomatal closure induced byMeJA and H2O2, PD98059 treatment could induce reopening of close stomata, in the meantime, the fluores-cence intensity of H2O2 probe dichlorofluorescein (DCF) decreased. These results indicated that the MEK1/2involved in the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signal transduction system of stomatal closure in-duced by MeJA and mediated the H2O2 generation in guard cells of Arabidopsis thaliana.
