【Abstract】 Ruan Ji was a grand master of Xuanxue (Dark Learning) in the Wei and Jin Dynasties. His Taoist thought was deeply subject to Zhuangzi’s influences. Ruan Ji took Zhuangzi’s summit ideal state, "Xiaoyaoyou" (Care-free Peregrination), as his own life goal, and he fully secured the quintessence of Zhuangzi’s critical spirit. Ruan Ji pursued the heart’s freedom and carefree and he criticized Confucian false moral norms that fettered people both physically and mentally. But actually, he was also a safeguard of Confucian orthodox thought and it was the utmost difference of Ruan Ji from Zhuangzi.更多还原
