【Abstract】 Environmental history in the United Kingdom did in fact result from the mixture of British environmental studies and the exchange of diversified intellectual in former British Empire, which clearly separated from the wellsprings of environmental history in the United States. Comparing with American environmental history studies, British environmental history studies is with three characteristics: Agroecological history paralleling with urban environmental history; Strong orientation of “Southern agenda of environmental history”; Excellent established research infrastructure and platform. Additionally, my interviews with Prof. Ian Simmons and Dr. Fiona Watson was attached as the third part of this paper, which will be helpful to make clear the contact and contrast between British environmental history studies and American ones and be helpful to break through the American discourse hegemony in international arena of environmental history studies further.更多还原
