【Abstract】 Synthesis of 3,3,6,6-tetramethyl-9-aryl-1,8-dioxo-1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8-octahydroxanthene from aro- matic aldehyde and 5,5-dimethyl-1,3-cyclohexadione using NH2SO3H and SDS as the catalyst (10 mol%) in water was described.
