【Abstract】 The paper defines directional technology distance function in period t and a modified Malmquist index(ARD,AGL) after analyzing the limitations of Malmquist indexes defined on directional output distance function. Then it proposes a linear programming way to its solution. The modified Malmquist index can be decomposed into technical change, technical efficiency and scale efficiency.
