【Abstract】 Tetrasilve tetroxide（Ag₄O₄）is a multivalent silver oxide with uniq ue configuration. It could react with naked nitrogen and sulfur groups involving oxidation-reduation reaction and resulting in electrocition and chelating reac tion with production of porotein configuration change which would not induce the development of resistant strains of pathogens as many antibiotics just on the co ntrary. Tetrasilve tetroxide has anti-microbial e ff ects and can induce death of cancer cells but it seems non-toxic to normal tiss u e. Thus, tetrasilve tetroxide possesses the potential to be developed as a new anti-microbial, anti-HIV or anti-neoplastic agent.更多还原
