【Abstract】 Starting with the puzzle of system science, it is described that classical sciences based on reductionism, empiricism and ’pure science’ have met difficult problems and need to absorb the harvest in system theory, rationalism and humanism, and develop into a new science, namely complexity science. The rise of complexity science is an inevitable outcome of evolution of substance, life and human being.
