【Abstract】 Using an on-line window display technique, the present study investigated the effect of roles’ goal on updating spatial information without clue in text-reading. The results of experiments showed that roles’ goal played an important role in the processing of spatial information. In Experiment 1, the results of recognition tasks indicated that roles’ goal, which was relative to the object in spatial setting, could facilitate the updating of the spatial situation models. In Experiment 2, the effect of the satisfied-goal was distinguished from that of the unsatisfied-goal. Compared with the satisfied-goal, the latter more likely influenced the updating of spatial situation models.更多还原
