【Abstract】 Based on the history evolvement of the building fire protection design methods and ideas,the article analyzed the ancient simple fire protection design method as well as prescriptive design method system under the prescriptive building code.From the ancient case study to the lessons learned from the contemporary fire losses,the article emphasized that with the development of city moderenization and building science as well as the sharp increase of the large and complex buildings,the performance-based fire safety design method based on current fire science and technology has come into being.The article gave a thorough discussion of the method.更多还原
