用于WLAN的低时延混合MIPv6切换机制
A Low Delay Hybrid Mobile IPv6 Handoff Mechanism in WLAN
【摘要】 由于传统的WLAN切换时延较大,因此不适用于时延敏感业务。借鉴IETF提高切换速度的两种协议——FMIPv6、HMIPv6,提出一种提高切换速度的混合MIPv6机制。混合MIPv6机制采用分层管理,在二层进行切换之前提前配置地址,避免了三层切换需要的切换时延,减小了发送绑定更新消息的数量和距离,从而大大提高了WLAN的切换速度,为WLAN增值业务的发展提供了条件。
【Abstract】 Conventional handoff in WLAN has long delay and therefore it is inapplicable for delay sensitive traffic. In this paper, a new handoff scheme named Hybrid MIPv6 is proposed, which can improve the handoff speed. MIPv6 is based on FMIPv6 and HMIPv6 handoff mechanism. Hybrid MIPv6 mechanism adopts layered management and configures new addresses before layer 2 handoff. So it avoids the delay of layer 3 handoff and reduces the amount of binding update messages and the sending distance. Consequently, the handoff speed can be highly improved which is favorable to value-added service in WLAN.
