【Abstract】 Basic English teaching takes aim at the foundations of the English language,while the teaching of English for Special Purpose(ESP)is to help the students apply basic English skills in practice.Basic English teaching and ESP teaching have similar objectives in language knowledge.These are the development of language skills and the understanding of the culture of that language.However there are also some differences between them.The characteristics of ESP teaching are:outstanding special,three“manys”and three“fews”.Therefore the teachers of basic English teaching by using appropriate purposes to help students develop a firm understanding in Basic English,and also help students successfully acquire practical English skills by studying English for Special Purposes.更多还原
