【Abstract】 This article applies ethical approach to the analysis of Ye ats’s ethical ideals as presented in his plays of symbolism. It points out t hat magic and religion are the ideological foundations for Yeats’ plays. It holds that Yeats’s presentation of a supernatural world is to c riticize materialism and rational cognition based on daily experience for the loss of moral cultiva tion and religious faith, and thus to make people aware of the lost spiritual world.更多还原
