【Abstract】 A professional sports psychologist plays a decisive role during effective sports psychological consultation. Based on the connotation of psychological consultation itself and the characteristics of sports psychological consultation, the authors probed deeply into the orientation of the role of a consultant during sports psychological consultation, and further carried out comprehensive analysis of the professional capability and personal quality that should be possessed by a sports psychologist. In addition, the issues that should be noticed during sports psychological consultation were highly emphasized.
