【Abstract】 Using mobile IP to realize the core network of the third generation mobile communication system UMTS, a user can roam between different net in Internet. This article analyzes the basic theory of mobile IP and discusses the realization of mobile IP in UMTS core network. It also analyzes the structure of UMTS Release R5 network.
